This colossal machine was originally designed as a breakaway vehicle launching straight from a throne room deep inside Galactus’s World ship, built specifically to transport the Devourer down to a planet’s surface.
The mechanical inspiration is just as brilliant: early design discussions had the docked shuttle simulating the heavy-duty operation of intake manifolds and tunnel rams! It perfectly explains the gritty, hyper-industrial aesthetic of the massive cables and exhaust systems we see connecting him to the ship.
